Alvin Yellowjacket Booster Club Relays

Makenzie got first in shot put with a throw of 37' 6.5" and first place in discus with a throw of 114'2" which is a new PR(personal record) for her! The girl in front of her just threw 112' and Makenzie had one throw left and got a good throw in to win first and get a new PR.Competition is a good thing!

Dodge Ball

Jacob participated in a dodge ball tournament sponsored by the FBLA. It was the first annual tournament, so I assume this will be a yearly event and you bet Jacob will be participating. They were the first team up and they lost to the Turtle Ducks...Really?? They weren't playing with legit dodge balls, rather some kind of nerf balls, so the harder you threw them, the more weird they would fly and curve. Hopefully they will do better next year.

Jacob's team taking the court

I love how intense the guys on the bench are, especially Braden.

Will Taylor Relays

Makenzie placed second in both shot put and discus. Shot put she threw 35'6" and discus 109', she really threw 100' 9" but they have her down for 109, either way it was second place. The girl who won first is probably in the top 3 in both events in the state, so second to her is not shabby.

Jacob turns 16 and is Ordained a Priest

Sixteen years ago we were blessed with the birth of Jacob Wayne Smith. He was ordained a Priest by Dale at church on his birthday.. I can't believe our youngest is 16! Happy Birthday Jacob!

We were just going to give him rolls instead of a cake and he would have been happy with that!
Jacob loves his rolls!

Jacob got to celebrate at Pappasito's twice, once with Aunt Tami, since she and Uncle Kent were in town and Tami's birthday was on the 13th, and another time with his friends. We love Pappasitio's!

First Track Meet

Makenzie was able to participate in her first Bubba Fife Relays, it is hosted by our district. Makenzie has always missed this meet due to basketball playoffs, but luckily she could make the one her senior year. She placed first in shot put with a throw of 37' 1/2". Not too bad for not throwing in a year! They didn't do discus since the fields were to wet and muddy to get to.

And the last basketball games of the season

Jacob played at home and got the win over Morton Ranch. The game before his went into double overtime, so his game got started really late and I only got to see his tip off and then I had to leave to go to Makenzie's game, it was the first round in the playoffs. Makenzie's team lost. She got to start and she made the first 3 points of the game and that was all.

And that would be a three!

And that 3 just hit off the rim

I took a screen shot of this. It was in a local newspaper we don't get so I found it online

This is another article from a local newspaper that we actually got.
She is mentioned in the article and they used a picture of her!

Basketball, it's almost over

Jacob's team got the win on the road against Memorial.
They got down early on, but came back strong and finished with the win!
