6-30-10

Matthew, Dale and I started the morning out by going to the Salt Lake Temple. It was a real treat!
We later meet up with Dale's brother Dave who works in the building by the temple and had lunch with him.

Day Two of Vacation

We traveled to Utah and made a stop in Carbondale, CO to visit with Dale's sister Kae and her husband Andy. They have a nice house on  the river. We walked down to the river where the kids threw sticks in it for the dog to fetch.

It Took My Breath Away

What's that funny noise you are hearing?? It's just my heart about to beat out of my chest and me taking deep breathes trying not to have an anxiety attack. This was all brought on by this:
Who knew 2 suitcases could do that to a person??
Breathe in and breathe out and keep repeating.

Almost Confronted the Idiot!

As I was driving Makenzie to her Orthodontist appointment today, I got behind the Ford Expedition that hit me, while I was running a few years back. She was also taking her daughter to the same orthodontist. When I walked in behind her she kept looking at me. As I was sitting there with Makenzie she kept looking at me. I finally moved because I didn't want to make a scene, or embarrass Makenzie. I was so tempted to say, "Yes, I recognize you as the idiot who hit me and didn't stop!!!"  You could tell she was very uncomfortable around me, but let her squirm, that's what she gets for hitting and running.

It Flies By Too Fast

It's hard to believe that this baby is now old enough to go on a mission. It seems like he was just born. It's been hard these last few days trying to get him ready to go because the tears start flowing. It's easy to ignore it so I don't think about it! You spend 19 years preparing and hoping they will serve a mission and those last few weeks it's hard to prepare, at least for me. I couldn't be more happier that he is serving a mission, but I will miss him a lot! I will have to say that there are days I want to kick him all the way to the Dominican Republic myself, but I think that's the Lord's way of helping me let go. Matthew you are loved and we are grateful for the decision you have made to serve a mission. You will be missed!

Last Full Family Photo For At Least Two Years

We had to get our last photo shoot in before Matthew took off on his mission. For those who haven't seen these on Facebook, here are a few of our favorites out the the over 150 pictures.  Matthew walking towards the alligator that was out of the water

Basketball Camp

This past week Jacob and Makenzie had Basketball Camp at the High School. They were able to have their cousins, Adrian an Even join them the first day, but then they had to go back to Denver. They had fun showing off their cousins.Jacob was moved up to play with the 8th graders. He's always up for a challenge and Makenzie was the only 9th grade girl there so she played with the 8th graders.  Makenzie getting an awardJacob getting an award
